The Garden House | Cottesloe

The Garden House is a rammed limestone and timber clad modern home that respects the existing garden.

Designed around an internal protected courtyard, the home uses rammed limestone feature walls and polished concrete floors in free-flowing internal spaces that house the owner’s extensive art collection and furniture pieces collected over a lifetime.

A slow combustion fireplace will add to winter warming and create a focal point in the open plan living area. The house is clad in charred timber in the Japanese tradition of shou sugi ban which will give the cladding longevity and allow the garden to stand out against the largely black built form.
